Another Irish Run

Well this is scary... mid-week runs are now up to 5 miles. Great countryside run today on an old towpath along the River Barrow near the B&B. Nothing super exciting although all the locks were pretty neat (and I really wanted desperately to stop and try and switch one, it almost looks like they're still used - P.S. THEY ARE, see the links). A little bit of navigational confusion and a guess at the distance between the drop-off and pickup point resulted in the run not being the smoothest. But fun none the less.

Back to California and New Shoes

Yesterday I was flying out to Folsom to return to my former internship for another summer. From a running/training standpoint I'm super excited to be returning to the excellent bike paths Folsom has and just can't wait to return to a stable and hopefully complete training schedule. I decided to delay my run a day because despite how much fun I would have running up and down a Southwest plane 233 times (i.e. 466 plane lengths*) I'm pretty sure if I had done that I'd still be siting in a windowless room with the last legal incandescent bulb in California dangling over my head.

Halfway There!

Down in the bay area for the weekend visiting friends, man it's great to not have to run right at dawn to beat the heat. Had a great run along the bay http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/i87EUqDRsKg and made it all 13 miles. And it couldn't have come at a better time: it feels great to thumb your nose at the withdraw deadline.
